As the bride, I remember waking up alone in the penthouse and taking a moment to realize just how long Brandon and I had waited for our wedding day. Throughout the pandemic, we spent a lot of time planning, replanning and then planning again. While this was stressful, it all disappeared the moment I approached my groom. As my father and I waited arm in arm at the back of the church, listening to the cellist play Bach Cello Suite No. 1 it was clear to me just how blessed we were to be joining families that beautiful summer day. While it was not easy to see my groom’s face all the way at the top of the aisle, underneath all the fabulous layers of fabric covering my eyes; the moment my father lifted my veil and united our hands, my heart melted and fluttered with pure bliss. It is a moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
My wedding dress shopping tip is simple, go to Wedding Atelier. Not only is the staff welcoming and extremely knowledgeable on the full wedding fashion industry as a whole, their inventory of gowns and direct access to designers is impressive and invaluable. I had a very difficult and negative experience purchasing a wedding gown at another store prior to my WA visit. Had I understood the importance of a) having an in-house seamstress b) being in trustworthy hands c) been exposed to a larger array of gowns face to face and d) having known the fabulous store owner, Carrie Hung before I made the mistake of purchasing a gown elsewhere, I would have saved thousands of dollars and loads of heartache. Thank you WA for being the most fabulous wedding fashion resource in New York.
